I was a sugar addict and a junk food junkie. When I was young, I could get away with that. But then time started catching up with me...
And then along came inflammation.
And skin problems.
And weight gain.
But I was still eating the same way. Nothing had really changed. Just age and time.
That was the problem. It was all catching up to me due to the cumulative effect of my bad habits, combined with time and aging.
It turned out I couldn't get away with it forever. I had to make a change but my habits were deeply ingrained and too hard to break.
I tried the mainstream methods of diet and exercise which sometimes worked temporarily, but it always felt like too much effort, too much time, and too much deprivation.
I was depending on WILLPOWER, but we all know that is a limited resource, so I kept falling back to my old habits and sinking back to the status quo.
I thought I knew what to do, but I just couldn't execute on that knowledge. Sure, it was simple, but it wasn't easy.
Then, in 1986, I started experimenting with some different methods I was studying while getting my degree in Exercise Science from Seattle Pacific University. By focusing on real scientific research, instead of what the mainstream was promoting, I began to discover some massively powerful and effective strategies.
Then, in the year 2000, I was highly motivated to learn more about the brain because my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease.
I really wanted to help her (and wanted to avoid getting Alzheimer's myself), so I started implementing what I was learning in my own life. I was my first guinea pig to try to find an answer to help her, myself, and my sister, since there seemed to be a genetic link, based on the research available at that time.
The motivation I felt to improve my health was definitely more intense because of mom, and that sure helped me to get better results, but it wasn't enough. I had to learn how to break my remaining bad habits and replace them with new healthy ones.
So I dove into the brain research and read as many books as I could find from the top experts in the field.
This got me started on the path of creating a Brain Rewiring system and what I was discovering, learning, developing, and doing, was working so much better than anything I had tried in the past, it felt amazing and gave me hope!
I also felt like I had stumbled onto a time machine method because as I was getting healthier and fitter, I was literally looking and feeling YOUNGER!
